Me and my family are doing well. My life today is better than my life pre pandemic. But I also know a lot of people that are doing worse. Teachers that are struggling in the classrooms with kids that don’t know how to behave (yes, they have gotten worse since the pandemic). Service sector staff who got modest raises but not enough to keep up with inflation. New graduates that are struggling to find jobs. Housing prices that have doubled over the last five years. People that are generally unhealthier than they were before. Lots of people that feel lonely. I can tell you that my youngest will not be as ready for school this coming fall as my oldest was when he started school. I would say she will 75% of the way there but you can’t just shut everything down and then expect people to just catch up the next day. I think she will be mostly fine but especially socially not so much. The other one I didn’t expect was reading. My oldest was reading by this point. She isn’t because I thought I would have all day with her to do the sane stuff I did with him but when you are having to deal with school with him that meant I couldn’t be with her doing that stuff.
