I had asked a few people IRL and they were a bit too nice about it all to say the least. That being said, I should have also disclaimed that my brows are fucked-I have trichotillomania and they are patchy as it is but also…pretty sure a professional mua could figure out how to make them look a bit better ha. I have a consultation call on Thurs with someone else, who has an extensive portfolio and doesn’t appear to be a hot mess. My best friend has trich too and she uses the NYX Lift and Snatch brow pen to draw on individual hairs and it turns out phenomenally. I’m sure any experienced MUA is well-versed in those kinds of products/techniques and will be able to give you a very natural looking result. You’re partially paying for the trial. The trial should be the same as the actual day. Either this is going to be your look on the day, or the makeup artist is penny pinching and using bad products for trials which defeats the entire purpose. Run far far away. $750 for that is absolutely unacceptable. I wouldn’t pay 50 cents for that.

I think this isn’t worth the assuming I’m just an old man was your first mistake shirt also I will do this price. Now I wouldn’t fault someone for using the pink and green mascara, usually, because it works on a lot of people – but overall she should be using the same products during a trial as on the big day. There are plenty of inexpensive products that work great, but that’s not the issue here – I think the biggest issue is her technique looks dated and this isn’t flattering. The liner is heavy, the lip color is too pink, the whole thing isn’t cohesive. I’d look elsewhere. Also if/when you find a new artist, have some reference photos to go off of. Look on Pinterest for natural wedding looks, or once you find a new artist pull looks from their own portfolio/instagram, and tell them what aspects you like (ie I like the glowy skin but want my freckles to show through, I like the wispy lashes but don’t want so much shimmery shadow, etc).
