Only issue is we we need to get to Buenos Aires after we cross the Art Zeus Lightening God shirt in addition I really love this border, so we would need to return the car. But maybe we do a round trip and fly from Punta Arenas. As was said you need a permit to cross the border and you can also pay extra and leave the car somewhere, it’s negotiable with the car rental. We rented it in El Calafate and left it in Ushuaia, paid about $700 for the rental guy to come there and take the car. There are plenty of busses between El Calafate and Puerto Natales – it’s only about 3 hours – in case you’d like a different option from car rental! Do you have a writeup/blog documenting your trip somewhere, or just like to let the photos speak for themselves? It would be helpful to hear how you planned the trip out and what recommendations you might have for others planning something similar.

When you’re in Argentina rely on cash, not on your credit cards. The bank rates are crazy, you’ll lose a lot of money paying by card. Better to exchange money in Buenos Aires but be prepared to travel with lots of cash. I mean, LOTS, like a drug lord. It’s not safe, so maybe better to exchange in every big city you visit. Torres del Paine hike: we were said that we may need crampons and sticks. In reality we weren’t allowed to hike without them. We spent the Art Zeus Lightening God shirt in addition I really love this entire day going to Puerto Natales (the nearest town) to buy them. We wanted to rent them but they were not available anywhere. If you’re going to rent a car and travel between Chile and Argentina keep in mind that you will need to pay for a permit to cross the border. Also the wind is really strong there, especially in Chilean Patagonia, so don’t speed up. 80 mph is your limit. The wind can turn the car over. Good to know! I was told it’s a South American fox. First time we saw it I thought that was a coyote. Now it makes sense
