Not everyone can handle technology to become productive members of society much less actually behave like their age? At 38yo shouldn’t he started working, even part time, 2 decades ago? Started full time work 18 years ago? Be married and have children at least a dozen years ago? If anyone finds those ages too “young” compare him to what ages his parents, grand parents, uncles & aunties had those key life events? Their personal lives often need structure, frameworks and boundaries to progress in life to an actual grown up. It does not help that he does not eat clean each meal, not physical active daily, or not regularly sleep earlier earlier and longer. When anyone suggested the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this above environmental changes of the “OCD” sufferer they will speak up about some ultra niche ailment that is suffered by less than 1 of 1,000,000 individuals worldwide & not in their town/city/state. Because of how damaging that form of “OCD” is countries like Korea, China and Vietnam imposed restrictions of recreational screen time relating to video games, computer games and other screen time activities. at what point though do people admit that they’re just choosing to do that? they don’t actually have to. their bodies are not involuntarily making that movement. they know it’s not normal, and they know it’s not a spastic involuntary movement.

That explains almost all human behaviour away. Heroin addicts choose to keep taking heroin, serial killers choose to kill people etc etc What you’re saying is kind of like saying that if you were alone in the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this woods and saw a grizzly bear near you, that you are choosing to be terrified. Let’s face it – I know blind people who have jobs. If this guy can play video games and invest crypto, then there’s a million jobs he can do. No excuses here. People need to stop enabling his behavior. I mean someone is enabling him. That has to stop. He also has to want to get help. He has to see how it is something desirable, to be independent. There are plenty of people without mental illness who would take advantage of others for a life of leisure and a free ride. Hopefully he turns things around before the change is forced on him when he’s not ready. Should be using that time now to do so. This. I was housebound for a few years after serious illness. I loved video games so they helped me keep going, but it gets depressing. They’re SO much better now I can go out and come back to a game Last time I was that hooked on a game was last year when I got into Dyson Sphere Program, I hate playing knowing I have to go in x-minutes but I also love being that into a game
Agreed. I’ve been pretty much disabled for 2.5 years, can’t find a job because of it, and I play video games to pass the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this time but it’s depressing as Hell. Literally my situation for 8 years. I was so lucky with a new medication. 18months outof house now. Im so sorry you’re going through it as well I was a stay at home mom, went back to school, FINALLY got a job, and totally messed up my back after 3 months (didn’t work long enough to qualify for disability either). Had to quit my job because I can’t stand long anymore, and now nobody’s hiring me – not enough experience and none in sit down jobs. Didn’t get to finish my degree either (culinary arts – same reason). Some days I just want to cry, nobody has figured out why my back is so painful yet (got a spinal fusion too…).

Where to buy this Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt
My work stops for two months every winter, and that first month is pure joy. Second month gets boring. By the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this time I’m going back to work it’s an exciting break from the monotony of gaming all day I’ve got long covid. After being bed bound for 1.5 years and in extreme, extreme pain, i can finally game again. Thank fucking god, because without that life raft, i just don’t know. It truly is a wonderful tool for getting through the day. And after you lose everything, health included, that’s all you have left. Getting through the day. Unemployment during the first wave of Covid pretty much ruined video games subconsciously for me. On the surface I think I love playing them, but after a year or so of playing them out of almost necessity to pass time, I feel like they’re a chore now and have lost their charm.
It’s exactly what it feels like yes. I tried to make it a bit more by becoming a freelance games tester and streamed a bit just to have social interaction. I also painted and wrote to keep myself occupied. But none of it compares to the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this freedom of being able to go out. Gaming became both my saviour and my trap if that makes sense? Now, I just try to moderate. Gaming is and always will be a passion of mine but I think any activity is brutal and depressing if you have no other choice and no freedom And that is while you know that you’re doing all you can to get better and will eventually get better. Someone in OP’s cousin’s situation could physically get out of the house and get a job, so it probably feels much more depressing if you can’t manage to do that. I didn’t know, unfortunately. I was told I would be lucky to make it to 30. When I was 27 a new med they tried worked wonders and I’m now 32 and have been non housebound for about 18 months now. It was nearing 8 years before
Hell when I was out of work for 2 months a few years ago, before covid, gaming and applying for jobs was basically what I did from 7 until 5 when wife came home I third this. I did that from 2021-2023 and…God it sucked. I was struggling with mental health issues so I couldn’t leave the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this house, and then couldn’t afford therapy because gas prices skyrocketed (Thanks Ukraine War /s) . After the first month, videogames went from being fun and awesome to being depressing and soulnumbing. I’ve finally managed to get out of the house since January and actually do IRL things. It makes me appreciate video games a lot more now that I can’t do them 24/7 I love video games. I’ve been out of a job for 2 weeks now and I get a crushing guilt with a side of shame every time I load up a game.
Had a buddy out of work with a back injury for almost a full year, he was absolutely miserable. I can go a day or two if doing nothing before I go stir crazy Generally true of any type of coasting. I thought my hobbies would give me fulfillment, and for a time they did, but mostly I just got lazier and lazier, slowly deteriorating. That’s what I’ve heard, and why a lot of people just keep working instead of retiring because it helps pass the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this time and keeps them somewhat sharp I flunked out of uni and was unemployed for a while, felt like shit, fell back into gaming and sunk a lot of time into ESO. Looking back I can see my mindstate was fucked and just needed an escape. I was gaming for a 6 hours once and I felt sick. I really can’t explain it but I know it fries your dopamine centers. This is spot on. I suffer from multiple mental and physical health issues, so I don’t work. Everyone thinks it’s so amazing that I can play video games all day if I want to, when in reality I’m lonely and miserable, and just running down the clock until I die alone. I play games to pass the time and keep my mind busy so I don’t start thinking about how much my life sucks, but it’s very hard to enjoy anything when you’re suffering from clinical depression. Most days I sleep 10-12 hours because it’s easier than being awake. At this point it may be worth getting disability support and exploring something he could do while gaming, like streaming on twitch/youtube, or recording gameplays and game reviews. This would allow him to possibly have a bit more income (albeit probably not enough to earn a living), while socializing with more people, something that he probably needs and may help him get out of this hole. How about doing something like a post letter carrier. I mean there’s some interaction required but mainly its a solitary and I’d say healthy form of work. Or reading Gas meters.
For other jobs it depends on what his OCD triggers are… youtuber/streamer would be a safer choice as it is done from home in a situation he is already used to, but if he could do other jobs that get him out of the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this house it could indeed be better for him. I’m 45 and in the same cycle. Been denied disability 3 or 4 times in the last 20yrs. I guess ppl think I have faked my invisible illness for 30+ years. It’s like stuck in a dissasociative state, so the crushing weight of a reality we can’t control nor participate in doesn’t feel so heavy. If that makes sense. You are only allowed to make something like 10k a year on disability or else they can and will cut you off of it. It’s actually a bit of a shitty trap if you were on disability and slowly slowly start being able to work I’m lucky for a strong support system and I’m planning on getting into streaming to help ease myself into social interactions with strangers. Otherwise, it feels like I’m an extrovert trapped within an introverts body and rules of engagement. I love talking and chatting even over dumb stuff! But the anxiety is crushing.
It’s enjoyable when it’s used as a break, when you are living a fulfilling life but still love your RPGs to relax and unwind. It is not enjoyable what it’s all you do day in and day out to hide from the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this mental anguish you experience, then it just becomes a mask for a deeper problem your not willing to face. Honestly he needs to get back into therapy and treatment, this is probably not just OCD. This is how people behave with severe depression. He needs to be properly assessed and diagnosed. Covid lockdown weirdly put me off it for a while after as it was one of the only things I could do in my free time and almost became another chore. Just doing five days of movies and video games while infected with a mild case of Covid was mind numbing enough. My health rapidly improved so I was at the time only required to quarantine for five days… I thought I could easily handle it, what with the cold completely disappearing after two days (yay vaccines), but by day 5 I was DESPERATE to get out of the house!
You can’t just judge someone you are not really close to based on behaviour you see from afar and/or family gossip. I can only imagine what some of my more critical extended family members have said about me… but they don’t live in my head, body or house and they are not doctors so wtf do they know? For me it’s different. It’s one of the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this few things in life that brings joy. Only making video games brings more joy. Throw in enough depression and then you don’t even have the motivation to play video games – just doom scrolling reddit while ‘watching’ YouTube or whatever. I caught myself doing this at one point and it was a rough realization that my former passionate hobby had turned into a depressive crutch. I had to tone it down for a while. I enjoy them now but in shorter bursts and a lot has changed in both the games I choose and the state of my life. Hope it gets better friend.
NGL, I’m there with them. I don’t have fun, I’m just passing the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this time until I’m tired enough to embrace oblivion each night and again at the end of my life. For me it’s the opposite. During covid I had nothing better to do so I was playing video-game all day everyday and I didn’t get bored. I just got bored after I finished each game. Now that I’m in uni everyday with days that I’m only in for an hour in the morning I have no desire to play videogames. I only have desire when I’m not in uni for a week Yeah when I was at the height of depression it wasn’t even fun just a way to make the clock tick faster if I could even summon the motivation to play in the first place. fr you know you’re depressed af when you can’t even play video games, just have to lie there with your eyes closed unable to sleep because you’ve already slept 14 hours. good ol times. and then you get a bit better to where you can do stuff but then you can’t go to sleep cause the second you stop doing stuff you start thinking I agree with this so much. Immediately before I graduated college I got a kidney transplant and was stuck recovering for almost a year before I was cleared to start working. I’m sure complications with the surgery itself played a role in why I was so miserable but my point is, all I had to do all day was sit around and play video games and sleep and it was the most miserable I had ever been in my life.
I was very ill with schizophrenia for a while and yeah, playing games all day or watching youtube was just to pass the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this time until something interesting happened or I got to go somewhere or see people. I would even stay up late into the night because time seemed to pass faster at night than in the morning. It was pretty miserable. Reminds me of how people view homeless meth heads. People assume oh they’re on drugs just blocking all the bad feelings and living a party 24/7. These types of behaviors are of a crippled person who hasn’t been getting all the appropriate stimulus of living an ordinary fulfilling life. Can you tell you from experience it isn’t. Didn’t even sleep well. And the video games are just a coping mechanism. Eventually you just see through it and only do it because there’s literally nothing better to do or at least it feels that way.
I was a beta tester for video games that hadn’t been released yet to the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this public. After playing for 10 hours a day looking for and documenting bugs, I now no longer enjoy playing video games. Yeah I wanted to be a video game tester when I was younger and then my brother who at the time tested videogames told me what it was like and I no longer wanted to test videogames. I can confirm this as someone with MS who now sits around playing video games all day. I used to work on a service rig and I miss it so much. Nope I had no job for a five month timespan a couple years ago and all I did was play games and watch tv and I was so mentally bored working started to sound fun to me summary. My cousin is 38 years old. Never had a job. Used to be very close to him, but now my idea of him has changed. He was diagnosed with OCD at 19 years old. He went to therapy and took meds for a few years, but after that he completely stopped. Decided that therapy is a complete waste of time, and that meds are useless. Since then he’s been playing video games and sleeping. Has 1-2 meals a day, usually fast food or PB sandwiches. Whole family has tried to give him help, but he simply refuses to go for therapy. He has never even applied for a job, even a simple part time job. Refuses to get out of the house.
He’s taken “loans” from his parents to invest in crypto to make money, but as of recently lost it all. He is relying on his 2 siblings who are lawyers to feed him. No one here knows the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this severity of his health condition. I don’t come from wealth and I have terrible mental health issues, but I don’t have anyone to bankroll me and I don’t enjoy the idea of being homeless. If your cousins pulled all financial support for their stay-at-home brother, what would happen? Would he find a job to sustain himself, or would he end up homeless? If his condition is so severe that he’d end up homeless, it makes sense that he’s being financially supported. It’s a tough situation overall and not something random redditors can pass judgement on. For starters, it’s absolutely clear this is not a great place to be in for him. Whatever he may claim, relying on others for food&rent and sitting at home gaming all day is probably not a happy situation.
Now if you want go question whether he’s responsible for his own situation, that becomes more complex. He’s suffering from a mental health issue. There also may be problems in his history growing up, with those around him unable to give him the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this help he needs, perhaps bad experiences in the medical merry-go-round, etc. On the other hand, he’s also a grown human being who’s in charge of his own life. And as much as you can point at other circumstances, his refusal to accept help with his ocd or work to get a job is his own choice. But regardless of which of those perspectives you favor, i don’t think the question is very relevant. Whatever the cause, this is how he ended up. The real question now is, how to go forward? You can still spend time with him if you like. Or, if you no longer enjoy your time together, you can decide to see less of him. Remember that it’s not your responsibility to fix him. And that a friendship should be enjoyable from both sides. If e.g. all he can talk about is his games and you’ve grown past that, that happens, that’s okey.
Of course, if you do wish to help him, you can try. Maybe a heartfelt plea or heart to heart conversation can help him find the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this help he needs. Maybe he’s very comfortable the way things are, and he won’t chance unless he has to(e.g. if the money stops coming). Or maybe stopping the money would simply make him homeless while solving nothing. It’s a difficult situation. Just remember that whatever you decide to do, don’t do it because you feel obligated to. Do it out of genuine friendship or empathy. And put your own happiness before his. Judging him (i.e. calling him a loser) isn’t going to help anything. He was diagnosed and this sounds like a case of his OCD being on the severe end because it is affecting him being able to take care of his own basic needs. Doesn’t mean that all his choices are a result of his OCD, but he might be in a pattern of behavior that is more difficult for him to break out of due to having OCD. You can either be supportive if you can or just stay out of it for the sake of your own mental health, but try to avoid judging him. Don’t have any answer to this problem but it does sound like he is exhibiting clinical depression. Curious how his bathing habits are? Likely would benefit from long term stay at an institution for monitoring and to get meds under control.
Wow. Talk about life passing you by. Poor guy, probably needs a harsh wakeup call or he’s never going to change. His wakeup call might be everyone elses goodbye. At times these situations ends with self ending when its about men. More than 60% of wordwide suicide victims are men. Because we don’t get the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this help we need One of my sister’s kids I don’t see ever holding down a job. A combination of severe autism, OCD and anxiety issues (all professionally diagnosed) have made this kid a complete and utter mess. The ‘screaming meltdown’ stage of things at least has been grown out of, but there’s all sorts of compulsions, eating issues, etc. Best you can do is remind them to eat, try to make sure the school is making accomodations where possible, and hope that the hyperfixations don’t shift too often (went from collecting retro gaming consoles to collecting vinyl records in the last year, which… is not gonna make for cheap christmas and birthdays) And you’re a moron. But that is no reason to judge. I hope noone around you ever gets a mental health issue cause you are obviously not capable of helping them other than with namecalling
His parents need to boot him on to the Arriba Abajo Al Centro Pa’ Dentro Mexican Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this street. Stop supporting his sorry ass. Sounds like a guy who’s never done anything because he’s always been supported. Take away that support and he will be forced into action. I agree, it’s what I do in my darker days… But I also understand OP. I’m disabled and on disabled rent and I have that friend who often tell me he wishes he had it too because “his ADHD prevents him to work in anything but the exact field he wants to work in” but on the other hand, every time his father paid his tuition to do the job he wanted, ‘school too hard’. The other day, I offered him a solution (basically we could be roommate and he should be able to live off my rent the time to find a job) but he refused because ‘I need to have a job before moving back into our country’ because… yes, he moved out into another country of a language he cannot speak because ‘it will be easier to find a job there!’ and it’s his father who pay his expenses. I do not say it’s the case of the cousin! And I won’t be hypocrite. Having always been on disabled aid, at 30, I’m not sure I’d know how to work if my disability was suddenly cured.
