Maybe the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this difference is how we grew up? My area was quite conservative, but their were so many more boys compared to girls that the genders were both friends with each other throughout all grades. Personally, I’ve had just as many best males (straight and platonic) friends and best female friends. Did you grow up more separated? I definitely text a couple close friends’ wives. It’s not weird to me, they’re just a part of my life since their lives are intertwined with my friends. One girl in particular I text more than I text my friend. My friend never answers his phone, and when he does he never knows what he has planned that weekend anyways. When I ask him to do something his answer is always ‘I don’t know what we’re doing, ask my wife’ What I think it happens, from what you described is : his gf talks about you in high regard, so he’s trying to be friendly (not necessarily a friend). That’s it.
Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt: A Unique and Creative Design
I used to try really hard to be friends with my best friend’s girlfriends. Some of them were more open to it, some were not. I told my buddy way back it was weird to me to only be close with him but not his girlfriend, no issues where it counted. And when he got with someone else and had a kid and named me the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this godfather it seemed obvious i needed to be close with the mom, and she was friendly but i think a little uncomfortable being too close or something. Which is fine i just felt i needed to make the effort. To me, the important thing is i had a reason and that reason was a good friend who i was up front about so it didnt seem like i was springing up on someone with no context. I text my sister to show her fiancé stuff I think he’ll like every once in a while. I don’t have his number or I might text it straight to him. We’re both nerds with some of the same interests and I’m just trying to get to know him better and be a friend to him. I think your friend’s fiancé is probably in the same boat.
Sorry, but l think there more than mets the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this eye here. And it has everything to do,with his partner. It is only going to start small. And as time goes on,it will only get worse. I wouldn’t think anything of it – maybe he’s a cool and sophisticated person who likes to be friends with his fiancés female and male friends. He knows you’re married so it’s harmless in his mind. I find the more close-minded/“townie” types are the ones who get bent about male-female communication. Did the fiancé grow up in the same area as where you live? I know that may sound irrelevant but I find that people who move to a new place like to connect with all types. Only thing I find odd is that your friend gave out your number without asking you first. A simple message from her saying “Hey, my fiancé wants your number so he can get to know you better since he knows you’re important to me” would’ve avoided any awkwardness.
About this Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt
That’s what it sounds like to me, just him wanting to reach out and be friendly with a person who’s important to his fiancé. Unless he’s trying to snoop on his partner or bad mouth them, and of course he’s not making advances, it’s fine. If you guys work in the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this same field, and you’ve been working in it longer, it is absolutely in his best interest to befriend you in case opportunities come up for either of you. The world is a small place. One of the last places I worked, two separate people knew two different people from a place I previously worked at. Nothing wrong with networking and building a good rapport. I think what’s souring the engagements is how he got your number in the first place, he definitely should have asked you your number personally.
I think you’re right to remain vigilant. If nothing ever comes of it then fine. But if things start to shift you can nip it in the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this bud and spare everyone’s feelings. Personally, I (28M) want to at least make an effort to be friends with the friends of my girlfriend (soon-to-be-fiancé, next month). I don’t text them frequently. When I do, it’s usually about planning something for my girlfriend, or if I know they just had a major life event, or if I haven’t reached out to them in a number of months, just to say hi, but typically I can say hi through my girlfriend. They’ve warmed up to me over time. If her friends don’t seem to want to talk so much, for whatever reason, I just respectfully cease communication. From what I read in the post, it doesn’t necessarily sound weird, but it’s not abnormal to keep at arm’s length conversations with people you feel it might be impolite to speak to. Just do what makes you feel comfortable, and if you’re worried about your coworker’s opinion, just ask her what she thinks about it.
If you’re in the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this same field, maybe he is trying to just establish a friendly relationship to maintain a network? Call me old fashioned, but I will never exclusively text another woman (on my personal phone) without including my wife in a group chat. Trust me, too many bad things can happen if you’re not careful. Just don’t even leave the door cracked open. My initial reaction is that he’s keeping communication open in case he needs your help later with surprises, gifts, parties, etc. A co-conspirator of sorts, but in the best way. This is totally normal for some people. I’m married and have a couple of really good friends, and I feel just as comfortable texting their wives as texting them. They’re just people in my inner social circle who I would consider friends.
On another note, my hunch is that your friend probably talks about you a lot with her fiance. If she feels about you how you do about her, he’s probably really interested in getting to know you because you’re an important part of his soon-to-be-wife’s life. So that should make you feel good.I don’t think it’s weird. I talk to my best friends wife more than I talk to my best friend. He’s shit at communicating, plus he prefers phone calls and the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this like. Her and I just send each other random ass NY or runner specific memes to each other or talk about running. And all the planning goes through her anyways. That specific text though, is kinda weird in the sense that you two haven’t known each other that long. When my buddy was getting married, she sent me a similar text, but we’ve also all known each other for over ten years.
I think he’s just trying to make friends. It’s so hard to make friends these days, I’ll take ‘em where I can get em. Perhaps you could suggest a couples’ evening at some point so he gets to know your husband as well As someone more than 10 years older than you, I’m not even sure why you would think it’s weird. When my wife (22 years married) and I were engaged, I texted her friends periodically. I viewed it as her friends are my friends. It sounds like he is an outgoing person and thinks of you more as a friend to her than a role model/mentor. He probably does the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this same with her other friends and it never occurred to him that you might think it’s weird. You are a mama bear and got 2 more under your wings.. I had a few of them that seeks you out for advices or just knowing you are out there makes alot for the safty net and to grow mentally I’m 38M. At his age, I would text a married female coworker for advice about dating a mutual friend of ours. It was very innocent but I also realize it was immature of me. At my age now I don’t text married women. But he’s probably just trying to connect with the friend of his fiancé and maybe get some advice about her, I don’t know. Probably doesn’t mean anything by it.
I have some female friends who started as my wife’s friends. We text every now and then, but in almost every case I make sure it’s a group text that includes my wife. That way it’s clear that the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this relationship with the other woman is a relationship with that woman, and me and my wife. Works for us I think he is making an effort to connect and be friends with his fiancé’s friends. I appreciate when my now-husband interacts with my friends group too Not sure how close you are to this friend but it seems he’s just trying to be friendly possibly as a favor/nod to his fiancé. This is what happens when a man honestly tries to be ‘just friends’ with a woman. He did nothing wrong. Said nothing inappropriate. Yet his actions are being labeled as ‘weird’ because he seemingly has no reason to be outwardly friendly to a woman outside of a group setting.
You could pursue a group chat with all four of you included. I’ve set that as the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this expectation in a few relationships, and most ppl just keep it rolling once it’s started It is weird, he got your number from another source then starting texting? I dunno, as a guy, if I did that, it would be get to know you better, why text at all? I think it’s inappropriate. I wonder what his fiancé thinks about this. If she doesn’t know then it’s definitely inappropriate. I don’t want some dude texting my wife lol, why is no one saying it’s weird af? Like bro you’re engaged, stop texting my wife. Make a group chat Maybe he just thinks you are a cool person for helping his soon-to-be wife? Jeez people get so paranoid about random shit nowadays… Sounds like he’s just being friendly with his wife’s mentor. This doesn’t seem weird to me. I’m close to your age with a family and my best friends also are married with families. Mostly I talk to them but occasionally I’ll message my one friend’s husband. He’s an electrician and if I’m fixing something around the house, sometimes I have a question for him. The group of us also have some shared nerd interests and sometimes if I see something he would think is funny online, I might tag him in it or send it to him. I’ve had various other reasons to message him over the years, but if it’s not beyond like a friendly, reasonable text or a conversation with a reason behind it, this doesn’t feel odd or inappropriate to me.
I think it’s weird to receive texts from people you never gave your number to, but in this case it sounds like you’re very close to this 24F friend. It’s not uncommon in this case to provide personal contacts so the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this spouse-to-be can get to know the “in-laws”. I’d lean towards him trying to build a friendly relationship with you, because you’re close to his fiance. As my kids got older, I found I would have more chats/texts with some of their friends mothers. Same with the better half and their husbands. One in particular would help out with grabbing my kids if she suspected I was having a bad pain day. So we really appreciated her and her husband. Sometimes the car pool to go watch the kids in their sports because of work schedules would be each other spouses solo. No one ever thought anything about it. It was the we were all adults and the evens were long distances. So made sense to car pool.
It’s a little weird, but if he is a class clown weird is kinda expected. As long as the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this texts are appropriate it sounds more like an extrovert trying to be friendly and on good terms with his fiancée’s friends. There’s a good chance he’s just a socially awkward guy who is trying to become more a part of his fiancé’s life. He may not get how it could be misinterpreted. He sounds friendly. When a friend of mine gets a new partner and I meet them, then afterwards I make sure to write to said partner every now and then, to make sure that they feel included and that by being with my friend, they are my friend as well. Sometimes it could be just a funny meme, sometimes it’s more of a conversation. But they should know that I care and want them to feel welcome. Sounds like my stbx. Always looking for parent figures to lean on. Also the clown of the group. Eternal taker. Poor girl.I think this is him just being friendly and trying to get to know you because you’re an important part of his life, and not to mention in the same field of work. I text my husband’s best friend in a friendly way because i like getting to know my husbands friends, and also because we work for the same owner (different companies) about work as well. We also have a group chat in our texts. You could always make a group chat with him and your friend if it would make you feel more comfortable.
Theres nothing wrong with wanting to get to know the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this important people in your SO’s life. Having said that, him asking his SO for your number and continually texting you unprompted is weird. Its not like flagrantly weird, but it is weird. I think you have the right idea to reserve judgement but stay on guard Doesn’t seem weird to me and I’m even older. He probably knows you guys are close and wants you all to be close. Maybe suggest a double date I think it’s weird that you think it’s weird. A friend’s SO is generally poised to become your friend as well and it sounds like he is making an effort at friendship. I’m 40 and married. My husband sometimes texts my best friend and I have friends whose husbands I text (their husbands are more interested in sports than they are so I’ll text them about things like “our NFL team sucks this year” or “when are we going to get rid of our alma mater’s football coach?”). I don’t really see why it matters if you’re friends with both of them. If it’s just once in a while, and the content of the texts stays appropriate, then you’re just two adults communicating. At the slightest hint of anything inappropriate I’d stop contact. Why are millennials so cold and inhuman? Poor guy. How could he possibly be trying to make a move on you?? He literally got your number from his fiance. She knows he’s talking to you. He wants a friend and he wants to be friends with you because you’re so close to her. I occasionally text one of my husband’s long time friends. Sometimes this guy texts me first. We are both married and all four of us are friends. All four of us are ok with it and share with our partner what was said in the texts. We probably are not the norm.
I have a few spouses of friends’ I text directly. Usually it is with a purpose..like we have a boat and so do they…so I’ll write to ask a question etc. it’s never flirtatious. I always ask the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this wife if they would prefer a group thread. I never want to step on anyone’s toes or make them feel uncomfortable. Do you think it would be it would be uncomfortable to do a group thread with both of them. Sometimes I start that with another couple with a funny meme that everyone would understand etc. My ex’s friend talked with me a lot, she initiated it too while we were together. But there’s been nothing weird going on between us, before or after, we simply are very similar personality-wise, so we get along great.
If he’s never remotely got close to or crossed a line, everyone (but you, kinda lol) agrees unanimously there’s nothing suspect at all, then why stay guarded, give this man the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this benefit of the doubt. He’s doing exactly what I did when I met my now wife that I have kids with. I never once had ill intentions or harbored anything I shouldn’t, but being socially gregarious and loving her, I was proactive about connecting with family and friends to include getting contact numbers and occasionally hitting them up about something random or relevant. Until he raises eyebrows to you or maybe more importantly to others, then chill the fuck out lol! (I say so nicely). Plutonic relationship between sexes really are actually fucking possible but not if you don’t let em be lol.
Could he just be networking since you are in the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this same field? I feel like this might be something I might do without realizing it’s seen as inappropriate. I think since she gave him your number it’s all on the up and up and you have nothing to worry about until it crosses the line. Totally understand why you’d be guarded about this – this is how many stories with unhappy endings begin. But it could easily be innocent – guy could simply just be trying to network. I recently began working in IT, and while learning, I was being bombarded from various sources with instructions to aggressively network, to the point of like, cold-messaging random people in the same field, which is something which I would never feel comfortable doing. Something I actually did was speak to friends of friends who were doing things similar to what I was learning, because that was still making connections and building up a base of people I could ask questions to or say I ‘knew’. If I had a partner, I could easily imagine myself trying to strike up a dialogue with their friend on that same basis.
I’ve had friends whose SO would text me and try to talk. It’s pretty off-putting tbh. Your relationship is with them, not me. Yeah you’re in odd territory there. You said you have a mother daughter like relationship with his SO and that you have only met two times in a group setting so it’s possible he feels guilty for not getting to know someone that important to her before getting engaged and is trying to press it a little hard to make up for lost time and feeling pressured about it with the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this up coming wedding. My good friends significant other and I text quite frequently and it’s not weird? And like all we do is share stupid memes and crack wise and the like lol. As long as the vibes aren’t sexual or creepy I would definitely say he’s just trying to be friends. Only you can really answer the question about the vibes. It is weird as fuck for you to tell your friend and your husband every time the fiancé texts you tho. I suppose given your history w men in the past it’s understandable…just let him know if he ever crosses a line and for sure at that point bring it up w your husband and friend. It seems like he recognizes your influence on her and is either trying to get his hands into it out of control, and/or he is concerned your advice may interfere with their relationship. It’s triangulation. I’d let your friend know that you don’t want her to give your phone number out, and politely ignore all her boyfriend’s text messages.
You said it yourself, he’s not doing anything wrong. If you feel weird about it then go down the Arizona State Sun Devils 2024 Championship Game December 7 Arlington Shirt and I will buy this road of telling him not to talk to you. But then you will be the weird one for feeling weird about nothing. Don’t look too deep into it until something inappropriate happens. (Hopefully that never happens). Irregardless of whether it’s normalized for him to do so, make sure you are taking care of your own uncomfortableness. I say that because even if everyone thinks it’s ok, if you don’t, that’s what matters. From what you’ve said it does seem he is genuinely trying to be friendly to his fiancé’s mother figure, but make sure you set boundaries too. The reason this feels stand to you is because he broke that boundary to begin with.
