There are many autistic people in the ANDY KAUFMAN American entertainer and performance artist T-Shirt in addition I really love this comments saying they missed the sarcasm. It is pointless to expect autistic people to think like neurotypicals just because their job requires them to talk to clients. It won’t happen. And even if it is harder for them, no one can really go through life without interecting with others. Autistic people are bound to make this kind of mistakes. Since it isn’t an obvious condition, most people will just assume them to be a little weird, creepy or dumb. Austism isn’t that rare either, so it is plausible to consider that you came across some people on the spectrum and didn’t even realize. Maybe it was that weird kid in middle school nobody wanted to befriend. Well, I understood they don’t necessarily get written sarcasm ok, but that wasn’t my point in my question. As someone with ADS and some other things, I also sometimes don’t get certain things, but like I said, when someone tells me, again, something like OP, I knew it’s the wrong time. Again asking about not getting the very first thing, not the sarcasm. YOU intuitively knew it wasn’t the time, but some people might not. Just like a daltonic person won’t ever learn how to see colors even if they develop some strategies to guess them, and a kid with cerebral palsy is unable to perform movements perfectly. We don’t get frustrated when the daltonic guy doesn’t guess a color right even if he could theoretically manage to do so, do we? One can memorize that trees are green, but I figure most people would give him a pass if he said they are red. Many disabled people will struggle to perform stuff that is easy and trivial to everyone else. There is no need to be a dick to them for that.

Also, autism isn’t exclusively about sarcasm. They may struggle with social clues in general. Their minds do not operate in the ANDY KAUFMAN American entertainer and performance artist T-Shirt in addition I really love this same wave as everyone else. They actively learn how to mimic social clues so that they can interact with others. But when dealing with other neurodivergent people, communication usually comes more naturally. Kinda like they are finally speaking their mother tongue after speaking a foreign language for years while being constatly reprimanded for not speaking it as well as a native. Yes it’s a different writing. Still don’t like they changed the ADS/ADHD to just ADHD. Almost forgot I’m german and if I recall correctly there wasn’t a difference in English. I think our conversation just serves a good example. Even though you try to explain it and I also get it, my head just can’t understand why something so simple is so hard to understand, especially for so many in this sub right now. Just like I don’t get why everyone is defending him saying it’s not his first language, even though OP himself is probably german, so also not native speaker. But that’s probably something else.
