It takes two to get pregnant, it takes one to carry a baby and give birth, but the All Grit Detroit Shirt also I will do this support a loving spouse can and should give to their pregnant wife is what makes people say “we are pregnant”. I’ve been pregnant. I know my hormones were all over the place. I know I put my then husband through a lot when I was pregnant. I would not have done that had I not been pregnant, and he would not have experienced what he did had I not been pregnant. He was very supportive, and he was not always perfect in his responses to my hormonal reactions. We were both affected by the baby I was carrying. I had no issue with him saying that we were pregnant, because there is no term for what he went through. I’m a woman and I like it. Yes, it’s true that men share none of the physical tax that is pregnancy and childbirth but I am 100% for men showing ownership, involvement and anticipation for their babies. With that being said, pregnancy is hell.
All Grit Detroit Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater, long sleeve tee
Being a father is much more than offering a sperm donation. It is sad that many men and many women see it that way though. Coming from a person who wished their father was more hands-on in his parenting style. I’ll probably get down voted for this, but I (m) love it. It tells me the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this couple is going to work together and share the responsibility of raising the child. It says that the man is aware of the weight of his duties in pregnancy and beyond. It means the woman isn’t alone. For me, the term “we’re pregnant” carries a sense of shared excitement and anticipation between partners. It acknowledges the journey of parenthood as a joint experience, even if the physical aspects of pregnancy are borne primarily by the woman. While I understand my wife’s perspective about the disproportionate physical burden, I also believe that emotional support, understanding, and active involvement from both partners are crucial throughout the pregnancy journey. It’s a reminder of the teamwork and commitment required as we embark on this life-changing adventure together. So just say “we’re expecting”. You are not physically pregnant so it’s honestly insulting to say “we’re pregnant” is if you share that physical burden when you don’t
To me, “we’re pregnant” signifies a deep connection and mutual commitment between partners as they embark on the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this journey of parenthood together. While I respect your wife’s viewpoint on the physical aspects of pregnancy, I believe the term encapsulates the shared emotional investment and support both partners contribute to the experience. It’s a reminder that parenthood is a collaborative effort, where each partner plays a vital role in nurturing and caring for the growing family. Ultimately, it’s about acknowledging and celebrating the bond between partners as they prepare to welcome a new life into the world. Although I don’t like the way to describe it, there is no denying it will have a massive impact on both of you, yes in different ways but a big impact nonetheless.

Unless you’re a fucking dick and carry one like nothing has changed while your partner deals with it all on their own. Eh, gets the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this point across still. One of those, there’s probably a better word or phrase, but it still makes sense for what you are saying. I like it. It shows solidarity and makes the father a part of the experience, which I hope will remain through the rest of his life. I was asked for my opinion. I stand by what I wrote. You can think otherwise, but I’m not going to tell you you’re wrong. I think in today’ society where you can identify as anything, you should have the right to identify as a pregnant person. I understand your comment is sarcastic… However, in actuality, when people repeatedly present in L&D or ER for medical care insisting that they are pregnant when they are not [yup , it’s a thing]. We in the medical field order a psychiatric evaluation. I’ll just say that the inconsistency is what bothers me. If a woman wants an abortion, it’s only her decision, dad has no say. If a woman wants child support, then deadbeat dad better pay up. There’s a trend that dad is welcome when it’s convenient for mom, and excluded when that is more convenient for mom. I think dad should always be a part of the pregnancy and raising of the kid, so saying we’re pregnant may sound weird, but it makes sense if we truly do recognize dad as an equal parent. Um… ” dad is always part of the pregnancy and raising of the kid? ” Unless he leaves and leaves no forwarding address. Happens often. Don’t think law enforcement is going to extradite a man from a foreign country to get up at night & bottle feed a baby(?)
This is no different than saying “we are buying a house” when you have 1 income. While you may not consider both partners equally involved, they are both definitely involved. But, diminishing a man’s part just to the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this ejaculation (which is what your wife is doing) is asinine. No, we don’t physically carry the child. That is true, but we definitely have to deal with the increased stress, the erratic behavior, the extra neediness, loss of sleep, the extra trips to places for cravings, become emotionally exhausted, and all the other aspects involved. Yeah if she thinks a guy only has 30-45 seconds involvement good luck on the rest of your life. I guarantee that you will spend far more time than her fixing the odd thing around the house and regularly help with the chores except all the stuff you do ‘won’t count’ so she will still say you ‘never’ help with the chores. As another Redditor said ‘I guess the six hours spent this weekend doing yardwork has to come from my hobby time’
It’s ridiculous and insulting. The mother is pregnant. She’s doing nine months of work and then giving birth. You’re not pregnant as a cis man, you’re just going along for the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this ride. Your job is to take care of her not take any credit. Those of us who suffered and almost died from pregnant take great offense to it. You people really have nothing to talk about in your mundane lives other than commonly used phrases and their relevance I go with yes it’s okay to say “we’re pregnant” because as a COUPLE you’re bringing a 50/50 child INTO THE WORLD that you CREATED TOGETHER. People obviously understand he is not actually pregnant and what’s actually meant by it. Anyone who thinks a man is saying he’s equally carrying the fetus is a dumbass not a big deal, just a pet peeve for most people. for me its in the same category as people using words incorrectly or making grammatical mistakes. its a small annoyance
Some women get offended by the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this husband saying ‘we’ and some women say it themselves because they want to emphasize that husband is involved, too. There are no correct answers to this. More empathetic men will follow their wife’s lead on the subject and more empathetic women will tend to use ‘we’. The same thinking might be applied to the term “our house”, if one partner spent or spends significantly more years toiling away in an office, with all the cumulative burden that entails, in order to acquire it. that’s literally the dumbest comparison ever because you can say “our baby”. if you want to use houses as a comparison that’s like saying “we built a house” when all you did was have someone else do it for you.
“She is pregnant” seems distant and removed. If we are discussing semantics, I think I’d rather see the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this husband verbalize his involvement than trying to separate him from it. Now that businesses offer paternity leave, it’s not the worst thing you can say. It also implies that the father is going to really step up throughout. “We’re pregnant,” is wholesome and comforting. People offended by it sound spoiled, bratty, and childish. They don’t understand the full implications of the phrase. “We’re pregnant” isn’t comforting, it’s genuinely stupid because it’s not true. You don’t get to take credit for what the one who’s actually pregnant is doing. Just say “we’re having a baby” or “we’re expecting” Yes, the woman is pregnant. Yes, the husband is part of that and much more than “30 seconds-45 minutes.” To suggest that the term “We’re pregnant” is ridiculous is to completely devalue the father.
It’s not a contest for who holds the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this most responsibility and any father worth being a father is absolutely is impacted by pregnancy more than “30 seconds-45 minutes.” I saw your edit and am disappointed in it. You do you, but I don’t see an apology as warranted. Could you imagine how people would respond to the idea that it’s acceptable for a father-to-be spending 9 months justifying taking 0 responsibility because ‘she’s the one that’s pregnant?’ “She’s pregnant” and “We’re pregnant” are both acceptable. Removing value of a father-to-be by saying the idea that he’s part of the pregnancy is ridiculous is wholly shameful. Ask her if it’s okay for you to do absolutely nothing associated with the pregnancy after you cum and see how quickly she contradicts herself. I think it’s perfectly fine to say this. She is carrying both hers and your DNA offspring. Tell her to lighten up and let you enjoy it as well. I hate when people have to be gatekeepers on others who just want to be involved and have a good time. I bet she says “We” all the time when referring to things you both do as a couple. Honestly, why does it really matter what you say?
A father can sympathise but pregnancy is body-horror, not just fun. It’s not a fun thing that a couple do together, it’s a physically demanding, dangerous thing that a mother appreciates support in getting through. It’s beautiful and magical, but it’s life or death serious and not something just for fun or entertainment. I see it as an another way of saying “we’re expecting” or “we’re having a baby”. So, I don’t see it as a big deal if someone says it. If a male says we are pregnant, I assume he’s stupid and doesn’t know that men can’t get pregnant? It’s idiotic and just men getting to take certified for more than they’ve actually done, which is pretty normal for men here Or I feel like I’m waiting for the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this tv talk show to tell me about the man who is pregnant, and the surprise is theyre actually transgender. You just feel odd or taken aback, it’s different
That expression makes my teeth crack from cringe. It’s horrible, and disrespectful, especially to women who literally die or otherwise suffer lifelong complications and chronic pains after childbirth. It’s one of the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this worst manifestation of “woo” expressions. I think for someone to care that much about splitting hairs on the terminology (news: not all of our language is literally literal) is an indicator of unaddressed resentment of some sort. Talk to each other to figure out what that resentment is. “We’re pregnant” is a very cringe thing to say. Its also the same people who refer to their spouse/gf/bf as their “partner” One of us almost died in childbirth. And it wasn’t the father. Therefore, I was pregnant, we were expecting a baby. IMO men claiming a share of pregnancy degrades the experience for women.
He can say he’s pregnant when he’s carrying the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this child in his uterus. Oh, he’s not? Then his partner is pregnant and he needs to recognise his good luck that he was born male and that his total contribution to the pregn was minutes (laughing at the 45 minutes btw!). But men now can be amazing and excellent dads. With the exception of breastfeeding you can do everything women can. Get in there and give your baby skin to skin time, change those nappies, sing those songs and soothe those angry little potatoes. I find it cringey, but not because of the actual effort or disparity in physical commitment from both parties. It’s just…cringey sounding. Like, saying your partner is pregnant is clear enough. Just say the normal thing. I think that the amount of support provided both for the mom and the child can (in many cases) justify the idea that both parties are equally responsible for the child.
Contributions of non pregnant partner = contributions of the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this pregnant partner + all the risks and hardships that come with being pregnant. But it slightly irks me when said by the partner of the pregnant person. Kind of like they are taking credit for carrying the baby when clearly they aren’t. Yes men should be actively involved, yes that involvement ought to be acknowledged more too. But what exactly is wrong with “we are expecting” or “we’re going to be parents”? I think you’re both right to some extent. Your wife might be right about only have 30 secs-45 mins to do with the matter… but only if the guy is a shitty person. Plenty of men pick up slack that their partner can’t handle and involve themselves in the pregnancy where they can (nowadays). Your wife is correct, though, in the sense that men’s involvement is basically optional and how involved the man will be is always going to vary.
I really don’t think you owe your wife an apology. As someone who has had multiple pregnancies with a supportive husband, I would never ignore the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this extra effort and consideration of me he’s dealt with in order to make life easier for me during my pregnancies. The only problem I have with people saying “We’re pregnant” is that it’s technically incorrect. I don’t think it’s (necessarily) philosophically incorrect. I think it’s a very silly thing to get upset about But there is no reason to make it a fight, don’t use it if it upsets her, it doesn’t matter who is right. I feel like men who say this are conscioudly or unconsciously claiming ownership over the wife and unborn baby. I thought the “we” was low key ridiculous cause I’ll never be pregnant. She thought of it as something we were in together, and sometimes said “we”. I’m not gonna tell her we’re not in it together, because I’m not stupid. It’s up to her, but “we” are clearly doing the light work here.
My spouse makes a good point: if said by two expectant females or NB/gay/trans/etc equivalents, this is totally accurate! Nope. I’m old school. I don’t get periods or cramps, or morning sickness, or sweats, or lugging a growing belly around, worrying about post natal weight loss, the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this pain of childbirth, etc etc. I’m childfree and a massive introvert, so I don’t really run into this kind of thing in my daily life. But to me it just sounds kinda weird, like are you carrying an embryo/fetus in your body? No? Then you’re not pregnant and I don’t know why you would say you are. Like sure, the father is well, the father, and the baby is his, and he deserves to take pride and responsibility for it, but to say “we’re pregnant,” implying that he’s also carrying a baby, when he isn’t? It just seems weird to me I don’t get it. I’ve done it three times. My husband was incredibly supportive, but he didn’t go through any of the actual pregnancy experiences.. he just supported me while I went through them.
You wouldn’t say “we have cancer” just because you support your spouse through their experiences and attend all doctors appointments. You’re experiencing something entirely different from your spouse. *I’m not comparing pregnancy to cancer. Obviously, they’re completely different. However, one person experiences the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this symptoms while the spouse can only provide support. The comparison in that context alone felt accurate. “We’re pregnant” is stupid. The woman is pregnant. I wouldn’t get mad at “We’re expecting” though, because they are both expecting a child Are “we on our period” once a month otherwise? How silly. Pregnancy is a biological process. As men, we help start the process but that’s it. We provide a catalyst and the reaction is 100% hosted by her. Unless you’re Schwarzenegger in the movie Junior.
I mean if my husband is involved with caring for me through my pregnancy and will be raising the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this kid (I mean, that’s the ideal scenario right?) then I have no objection to “we’re pregnant”. We are both having a child that is currently gestating. My username checks out, so my opinion might be meaningless, but for what it’s worth I always found this phrase cringe. I mean, before “cringe” was even slang the phrase “We’re pregnant!!” just made my skin crawl. It’s so… look. Take the one indisputably badass, totally unique, metal AF, irreplaceable thing that women lay claim to in this world of ours… our role as the generators of new life… and devalue it in the name of what? Including hubby? God bless his little jizz shootin’ contribution, not gonna deny that, but… no. Ladies, why? Say “I’m pregnant with [name’s] baby” if you must (another dumb usage, by the way— it’s at least as much the mothers baby). But he is NOT pregnant, and therefore “we” are not pregnant, and damnit if he wants so much to be involved then find some way for him to actually help once the baby is born.
to me being pregnant is a state of the All Grit Detroit Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this body. being pregnant means carrying the child physically. not simply the state of expecting a child. this is why not both parents are pregnant, only the woman is. i always thought like this ever since i was a child, and i was perplexed when i found out there are people who dont think this way. it doesn’t make sense no matter how you turn it 107 more repliesSo HATE the “we” are pregnant saying. Ask again in 9 months to see how much the father does for the baby for the next 5 years. If there are complications are we both going to die? No. She’s pregnant, you’re both expecting. She’s doing the risky stuff, and if it’s a vaginal birth it’s going to feel for her like no pain you could ever feel, like shitting a cannonball. So painful that women often blank out the exact memory, like a PTSD thing. That’s an evolutionary thing so they don’t just stop after 1, according to my wife who risked eclampsia twice for our two. Us dudes, our job is to help her get ready, get the house ready, build that nest, and ensure that nothing stresses her. It’s a futile struggle but do your best. She’s going through way way more to bring your issue into the world. Pregnant means a foetus is developing inside the person. It doesn’t make sense for straight couples to say “we’re pregnant”.
