They can enforce their contracts and policies through their union, and also claim to be pro-worker and pro-union? It’s real stupid too. How they stopping people from walking out and not coming back? Just keep paying them? That’ll show em. No one is going to say, “I would walk out of this place and never come back if it wasn’t for that damned sign!” Yeah to be honest depending on who my manager is depends on how I’m gonna read this. If I have super cool understanding managers? I’ll read it as “hey if you’re having a bad day or something at work isn’t working out for you, talk to us, we wanna keep you here”. If I had a shithead manager who didn’t give a fuck I’d read it as “tell me when you’re gonna put your 2 weeks in so I can fire you on the spot” It is worthwhile to discuss issues of course but look at who they are supposed to be talking to. At least 3-4 levels above the average worker. Seems more like all their problems are at the base management level. “Don’t talk to your direct manager, the one who is making you want to quit”, is what the sign is saying. Maybe if they spent a little more time getting good leaders instead of shitty bosses they wouldn’t have these issues. My uncle worked the fryer at McDonald’s. He had a heart attack and died in his sleep. When we got a phone call from McDonald’s asking where he was, we told him the story. They went down to the funeral home, picked him up and threw him back by the fryer. These guys are serious.
