My controversial approach to binbags is to get the A Sloth Does More Work Than My Prostate T-Shirt in other words I will buy this cheap flimsy ones so the people I live with don’t dare ram the bin full, they have to empty it frequently before it’s tightly packed and therefore also before it’s stinking up the kitchen. I just came back from a/week away in a house that had an electronic bin! Fun but bonkers. Simple tall pedal bin will do. It’s gonna break at some point so don’t spend much. Find a supermarket with one on offer, and be able to at least check it out first. Idk if it’s bollocks or not but my mother used to swear by hoying new towels and tea towels in the washing machine and then the dryer before giving them their first proper use. I would appreciate advice on tea towels. I always struggle to get ones that are actually absorbant. They just leave lint and stuff on them. It’s verry annoying. I tried the ones from Tesco but they are no good. Any advice would be much appreciated!

A 20L bin? I can’t imagine needing one that size for two people unless I were, ahem, chucking stuff in it that should go into recycling or food waste. Tragic, but a game changer for me was forking out on a 12L Brabantia (plastic, not metal, so it was only £24.75 two years ago) bin and using proprietary bags. Made life soooo much easier. The tea towels from IKEA are great, I’ve got not a lie about 20 of them, any spill or drying the A Sloth Does More Work Than My Prostate T-Shirt in other words I will buy this dishes they get used, then I throw them on the floor near the washing machine and whack em in if there’s room in the washload, and they dry incredibly quick Tea towels are like window cleaning cloths, you gotta wash them a fair few times before they actually do their job.
