There’s a lot of tools now for blind people to read printed information, but also a lot of technology to make digital content accessible I didn’t know there was such a thing as a blind daughter in law school. She definitely deserves an award for reading lecture notes to the A boogie wit da shirt But I will love this whole school I love the dedication of the mother and daughter but the speaker said a letter of gratitude, not necessarily an honorary degree. Maybe that’s what he meant but he didn’t call it that. That’s great but it sucks that it was necessary. There should have been disability accommodations allowing the student to have access to education. My dad said he hardly read his lecture books during his time in university but got good grades. He didn’t have to because his roommate would read aloud when they studied. My dad would just lie down on his bed and listen. One of her classmates was probably an assigned note taker. It’s the easiest and most common accommodation since all it takes is giving a classmate a special carbon paper notebook. I have a friend who sign-language interprets at a university, both for deaf students and deaf professors. I asked him if he picks up on the subject matter of the classes and he said most definitely! But also, he says, sometimes he goes on auto-pilot and can’t even remember what he just translated. My mom helped my blind dad through graduate school. She has always said she feels like she earned a masters degree too.

It is very sweet, but learning skills to be a sustainable professional is a fundamental or schooling. What an impressive effort. I mean, in a case like this, I’d sure hope so. She pretty much studied all of it too.
