If the 57Th Anniversary Star Trek Thank You For The Memories Signatures Shirt in addition I really love this media started calling these “harassment videos” (which they absolutely 100% are), I wonder if that would change the tone. Definition of assault and battery varies by state unfortunately, but hopefully most would put this guy in jail. In Virginia, the state where this occurred, what he was doing is legally called “Assault and battery”. So, whether or not you physically touch someone is not automatically a different charge (but, depending on the type of touch, it could be a different charge. If you “touch” them with a weapon, for example, that’s a whole different thing). In this state, “simple assault” does not require physical contact, as mentioned above. Aka, you don’t have to punch someone to be found guilty of this. And if all you did was punch someone, you would be just as guilty of this as what this guy does regularly (without physical contact).

I’ve looked at 4 articles and all are silent about the 57Th Anniversary Star Trek Thank You For The Memories Signatures Shirt in addition I really love this prank. I think someone is trying to frame the narrative. The first guy to write about it didn’t know what the prank was and the other articles sourcing the first with no new info didn’t do any additional research. But it’s not like you can’t just go to his youtube channel (Classified Goons) and see the style of ‘pranks’ this douche is pulling. Why would a reporter not include that information? Afaik the phone that was used to film the prank was taken in as evidence and I’m sure the prank can’t be talked about because of the active investigation. BUT that doesn’t discount the theory of someone framing the narrative. The kid, his dad, and grandfather are all (allegedly) in disbelief that the shooter wasn’t accepting of a “practical joke”. Apparently the “prank” was him accusing people of sexual assault and stating he was going to make a citizens arrest. Hopefully not much, assuming most people who carry have carry insurance with excellent access to lawyers and bail money. This one is clearly what happens when you taunt the dynamite monkey. The waste of breath was harassing people for internet points and ended up doing it to someone who has impulse control problems and a gun. Both of them are crappy people but the youtuber is worse by a wide margin. I went and looked at the channel and its just the same sad garbage over and over again.
