So everyone is agreed the Airbnb scoring system is really bad and they should change it for the benefit of guests and hosts. I also have a question for you, what do guests give low location ratings when the apartment is where it is on the AirBnb map and it was never stated that it is in the city center ? I used to do WFH customer service and for any customer reviews basically anything under a 9/10 was looked at in a bad way. At least in the eyes of a shitty business that thinks you can make everyone’s bad day go away. I almost always give anyone 5 stars as long as there is no serious problems and friendly because of that. This rating inflation is everywhere now. Anything less than 100% is considered failure. I don’t know why they bother with a 1-5 or 1-10 ordinal scale if it’s top score or oblivion. I have angered people by using dressage scoring before where 8/10 is good. 10/10 is excellent which means perfection. Perfection is rare. when i rent out an airbnb i usually always give a 5 so long as the place isnt a shithole and the host isn’t a cunt, most of the time im just looking somewhere to sleep so thats usually all i rate the place on.
